WHAT'S NEW
Computer Assisted Joint Replacement Surgery
Camera-computer systems are helpful in conducting knee joint replacement surgeries with smaller incisions and greater precision. Computer-assisted surgery helps in aligning the patient’s bones and joint implants with a degree of accuracy not possible with the naked eye. Small-incision surgery, most often referred to as minimally invasive surgery, offers the potential for faster recovery, less bleeding and less pain for patients.
Visual Mapping of Knee Joint

Computers used during the surgeries offer visual mapping to help doctors make crucial decisions before and throughout the operation. The objective is to combine the precision and accuracy of computer technology with the surgeon’s skill to perform surgery.

The System captures the patient's unique anatomy and translates it to a computer screen, providing an unobstructed view of the patient's knee joint. The computer generated picture representation of a patient's bones allows surgeon to operate with smaller openings and with more accuracy to reduce mal-alignment.

As with any medical treatment, individual results may vary. There are potential risks, and recovery takes time. The performance of the new

joint depends on weight, activity level, age and other factors. These need to be discussed with your doctor.
Customized Patient Instruments

Based on the proven philosophy of mechanical alignment.

Instruments that match the natural anatomy of the patient. Individually shaped to fit securely to the bone.

Predetermined key surgical cuts -based on the patient's mechanical alignment deliver many of the advantages of the CAS without the CAS equipment.

LCS Cementless

The LCS® Total Knee System widely established and validated the fundamental design principles of low contact stress and bearing mobility. now The first design to combine congruency with mobility in a tri-compartmental knee implant, the LCS knee was also the first mobile bearing system to undergo a rigorous multi-center clinical evaluation (IDE/PMA) in the United States before launch. With more than 24 years of clinical experience, the LCS Total Knee System offers an unparalleled record of success. This success is grounded in a combination of factors:

• Maximum contact area and corresponding low contact stress at the patello-femoral and femoro-tibial bearing interfaces reduces the potential for polyethylene wear and catastrophic damage.

• Postoperative self-alignment of the mobile-bearing maintains maximum contact area while diffusing torsional and shear forces that can contribute to implant loosening. For more than two decades, the LCS knee has established a clinical track record that makes it one of the gold standards in total knee replacement (TKA):

• The incidence of patello-femoral complications, one of the most common causes of revision TKA, is reported in notably few cases throughout extensive clinical follow-up.2-4

• Long-term implant survivorship exceeds 96 percent in major peerreviewed clinical studies.

Short Stem Bone Conversing Hip

The DePuy Proxima™ Hip preserves the calcar region, maintains the integrity of the trochanteric area with its muscular attachments and utilises the cancellous
bone of the metaphysis. Respecting the femoral neck and not entering the diaphyseal medullary canal, the implant is more conservative than the classic stemmed prosthesis

The DePuy PROXIMA™ Hip “Round the Corner” technique for femoral preparation allows maximum soft tissue preservation and protection of the abductor tendon insertions. The advantages of the ‘Round the Corner’ technique are even more evident with minimally invasive surgery.

Fellowship Program
We are now cruising with the Basic Arthroplasty Course and have been able to lay down a systematic programme. The team has been delighted with the response, however we feel a little sad that we are unable to meet the demand.
